Make Manufacturers Accountable
The rise of consumer culture catalysed by ever-evolving technological advancements has led to the exponential boom of the fast-fashion industry. This has inevitably resulted in unprecedented rates of environmental destruction seen in the form of toxic carbon emissions, water consumption and chemical and toxic pollution - all hidden behind layers of polyester and greenwashing to protect the consciences of consumers and fashion giants alike.
Tag, You’re It is a radical call to imagine a greener future where we work just as hard to protect the very earth we inhabit. The project calls on consumers to initiate this monumental shift by first educating ourselves and making more informed purchases, then by creating a groundswell of pressure from the bottom up by going into retail stores to attach physical tags with personally curated messages speaking directly to fashion giants to take greater accountability for their actions, and to pioneer the movement towards a more sustainable textile industry.
