micro traces
What makes a place become home? Home may exist not only in what we consciously remember, but also in what we have lived with long enough to stop noticing. Every day, we follow familiar paths, touch the same surfaces, hear recurring sounds, and repeat ordinary routines. Over time, these encounters leave traces of movement, care, culture, and presence. The more familiar they become, the more they fade into the background of our attention, while continuing to shape how we experience and belong to a place.
Micro Traces explores this tension between familiarity and attention. Through traces collected from different places and lived experiences, the project invites us to look again at overlooked details and consider how time, repetition, interaction, and care quietly shape a sense of belonging.
Perhaps what we overlook is not insignificant, but evidence that a place has gradually become home.
