one minute of sound

observing the noise

noise pollution around us

When we talk about air pollution, our first association would most likely be greenhouse gases, climate change etc. However, there is a type of pollution that is not mentioned as often - Noise pollution. This is due to the constant traffic in cities, machinery and airplanes. This is much more damaging than previously thought.

We want to make this problem visible and fix it among all of us, so that in the not-too-distant future we have much calmer and more peaceful cities. We have created a recipe which will unite students globally and put an emphasis on noise around the world.

recipe for action

  1. Step outside and listen to the sounds around you. Can you feel the sound waves moving in the air?

  2. Start walking from your house to any location and bring your phone along!

  3. Stop at anywhere you want, stay for 1 minute to listen the sounds.

  4. Use your phone to record the sound.

  5. You will find the sound surrounding more visible.

  6. We will recognise the sound in the air around us clearly.
