Our Common Design Studio 2025 project, "DATA – beyond numbers," focuses on the emotional landscapes of daily activities, using color-coded scribbles to capture real-time emotions. Blue represents working, pink socializing, purple consuming media, and green eating. Our common statement of interest is in visualizing and analyzing these emotional impacts to uncover shared feelings like stress, anxiety, calmness, and excitement. The final video collage stitches these scribbles with ambient sounds from each activity, highlighting the universal nature of emotions. We aim for viewers to realize that despite geographical distances, our experiences and feelings unite us. The provocation we wish to make is that emotional resonance binds us globally, suggesting that while we may not perform these activities simultaneously, the emotional connections we share are profound and universal. Our project invites reflection on how deeply intertwined our emotional responses are with our daily routines, challenging the idea of isolated experiences.
