Home is often imagined as a place, yet we believe it exists first as a feeling. It is difficult to describe because we rarely question its presence. Only when comfort disappears do we begin to understand what it truly means. In moments of uncertainty, our senses instinctively search for something familiar for a rhythm, a face, a memory, or a silence that allows us to rest. That search is not simply a desire to escape discomfort; it is the need to reconnect with a sense of belonging.
We see home as something that reveals itself through contrast. It becomes visible when what surrounds us no longer feels safe, recognizable, or calm. The absence of comfort sharpens our awareness of what we miss, making home feel less like a destination and more like an internal compass that quietly guides us back to ourselves.
Perhaps home is not defined by walls or geography, but by the moment our body and mind finally recognize that they have found a place where they no longer need to keep searching.
