Marginalised Spaces In Urban Areas
Preserving and protecting unclaimed marginal spaces for opportunity in urban areas.
These marginalised spaces could look like tunnels under overground tracks, side of the road, green spaces, alleyways, pedestrian refugee islands and so on.
How to discover marginal spaces:
Go outside
Walk around your city, neighbourhood, village etc
Discover one of the listed places above
Consider (and start) using these spaces to their full potential
Some ways that you can use marginalised spaces are: for walks, continue practicing social distancing with friends and family, walking pets, space for active protests, creating art, growing plants and flowers, exercise... the list goes on.
Marginal Idea:
Even the dark corner can embrace the brilliance of flowers. The dark corner represents the marginal space. As for the colour collocation, we chose the green which can represent spring. Our poster aims to interpret the concept of marginal space by vivid image and call on people to go outdoors to find and feel the marginal space in the city, hoping to inspire the reuse of those marginal spaces.
