the everyday symphony
Updated: Jul 17
‘The Everyday Symphony’ explores the method of transportation that each person uses as a distinct characteristic that builds our sense of home. Our common statement of interest was focused on how we navigate the world around us as well as how unique the experience can be for each individual.
From the chaos of a bustling crowd to the calmness of a silent road, the varying levels of noise we hear on our journey back are emphasised throughout the video, regardless of where in the world we may all be.
Harmonised with the 'Common Design Studio' theme 'Home', 'The Everyday Symphony' emphasises the mundane and ritualistic elements of transportation that are often overlooked in everyday life. We use contrasting modes of transportation as a way to showcase that despite our differences, we have common ground in that our habits and routines evoke the same sense of familiarity we have coming home.
