Urban Art: Beyond the Walls

Art in the urban environment is more than just the art itself; it is also the relationship it has with the culture and social events of the surrounding areas. Not just limited to creative expressions of individuals, urban art is also a method of communication for messages responding to relevant social events of their time like pollution or political messages. Some urban art also serves a commercial purpose such as attracting customers to stores with them on the walls. In the future, the close relationship of urban art and society will continue to evolve alongside each other, responding and communicating to viewers of the distant era. This relationship can then be studied to learn more about the thoughts and views of past societies. Perhaps, what we learn might provide new perspectives and solutions for problems of the future or even methods to prevent those issues altogether.
