the fungal trading card game
green Guerrilla is a trading card game that blends community building and guerrilla gardening. players trade cards featuring various fungi and plants with friends, family, and fellow community members. Our game will be divided into earth’s 4 seasons, each with distinct botany, with each card consisting of a name, an illustration, a seasonal icon, and action icons. Utilizing icons on cards instead of text, we prompt players without explicit instruction. With new pairings will come different interpretations and unique experiences. Embedded within each card are mushroom spores or seeds. At the end of each season, players are encouraged to bury their cards. symbolic of the human connections created within the trading experience, through burial these cards are also given new life. Our project seeks to encourage creating connections through unorthodox techniques and cooperation, whilst promoting active roles in cultivating greenery that transcends designated green spaces.
